Who are you and what is this site?
We started this site as a way for college students to save money on textbooks. This was done as a service to my fellow classmates, as buying books was always a source of stress and meager meals for the months to come. We have since expanded into a general book price comparison site, extending the savings to everyone. We will continue to support this site and add features as time goes on, as long as the site sustains itself! Basically, when you find a book through our site, click the "Buy Now!" link, and order, we get a small fraction of that sale. Buy through us, recommend us to your friends, and drop us suggestions to improve the site at oxfordbooks@gmail.com, and we will continue to grow and implement new ideas!

How do I track book shipments?
As a book price comparison site, we cannot track shipments directly. Be sure to note which site you end up buying your book from, the seller name, and any confirmation numbers.

I found several books with the same title in the search result. How can I tell which is the correct edition?
You should be able to tell the correct edition if you use the ISBN number. If you do not have the ISBN number, we will display the edition, binding, and other relevant information in the search results to
help you narrow down your search.

I'd like to buy a book but am not sure what the return policy is.
The return policy depends on the individual book site. We are a book search service and cannot speak on the behalf of the book site. Return policies and terms are subject to change at each individual site. In addition, if you are buying used books, the return policy may be different from eveyr seller. Please check the individual site's policy carefully before you place an order.

Where can I sell books and how can I find out the value of my book?
We offer a book buyback search engine also. After entering your query terms, click "Sell" in the search results to see if any book buyback service is buying your book. If not, you can always sell via Amazon, Half.com, Alibris, or any other listing service. I would recommend starting with Half.com, since there is no monthly fees.

Can someone tell me the value of my books?
You can get a pretty good idea of how much your book is worth by using our price comparison engine. If your book is antiquarian, or otherwise special in some way, we recommend getting the book professionally appraised. At the moment, we do not have a way to put a value on these types of books.

What is the difference between paperback, trade paper, and mass market?
Paperback is just a paperback, as opposed to hardcover/library editions, which have hard covers, and are printed on better paper stocks but are considerably more expensive. A mass market is a smaller paperback, the size you often find at the grocery store. A trade paperback is usually taller, wider, and printed on better paper than a mass market.

I'm looking for a particular book. Can you help me find it?
We'd love to assist our users on an individual basis, but we do not have the capacity. Please use our search engine to look for your books. That's what we do. Our search engine also searches Ebay, so chances are if you cannot find it through our site, it may be particularly hard to find!

When going to the bookstore to buy the book from your site, the price differs from the comparison table?
There are a number of reasons why this could occur. First, it may be possible that the bookstore has not updated their database. Our searches only see what they allow us to see, and that is out of our hands. Second, the site may have had some promotion occuring when we searched their database. If so, the price listed may be slightly discounted. Third, coupons may be applied. When you go to the bookstore to order, you need to enter the coupon code at checkout to receive the discounted price.

Your coupon does not work?
Some coupons are for first time buyers only. If you have purchased something from that site before, you won't qualify. And you must enter the coupon code prior to checkout. Otherwise, you won't get the discount. When using a coupon, always verify that you have received the discounted price before finalizing payment. That way you can go back through the ordering process if you've missed a step.

Do you look for audio books?
Yes.

I don't want to pay with a credit card over the Internet. Can I phone or fax my order? Can I pay by check, money order, purchase order?
Some bookstores will let you phone or fax the last digits of your credit card number and many smaller dealers selling used books take phone orders or checks. Some large bookstores take checks or money orders, a few will accept government or school purchase orders. You can check with the store you are ordering from.

I found the book I want but when I went to the bookstore to order, the book was unavailable. Why is it still listed on your site?
If the bookstore has the book in its database, our search will turn it up. Some bookstores and dealers leave books in their databases when they are no longer available from that store or dealer. We sympathize with your annoyance and disappointment but there is not much we can do at our end.
